The Town received four proposals by the deadline which was October 11th. We will review the proposals and determine which firms to interview. We hope to have a selection completed by the end of October.

A question for the blogger: Aside from costs for a particular proposal, what are the criteria the EIDC will use to select the consultant? Obviously, the criteria used to select the consultant will effect who the consultant is and how they approach the study. Will they have any experience studying the economic impact of preserving historic buildings and features?
The proposal selection will be based on the following: experience and knowledge of urban planning and Downtown revitalization, the firm's approach to addressing the study, cost, availability and qualifications of staff directly working on the project, and proven ability to develop practical, action oriented plans. A firms experience in the economics of historic preservation would be considered under the first criteria.
